PostHeaderIcon Can Pets Have Allergies?

Ronnie Wilson asked:

When many of us think of allergies, we, humans, are often the first thing that comes to mind. There are millions of Americans, alone, who suffer from allergies. These allergies may be due to food, mold, mildew, as well as the weather. Although humans are the most common sufferers of allergies, did you know that pets can also develop allergies? They can. In fact, dogs are the most common animals that suffer from allergies.

When it comes to determining if your dog or pet has allergies, many individuals do not know how to proceed. For starters, it is important to look for the symptoms. In fact, did you know that some pet allergy symptoms are similar to the ones that humans show? They are. One of the most commons signs that your pet may have an allergy is if they are constantly itching themselves. Another sign is that of skin irritation. With that being said, constant itching and skin irritation often go hand in hand.

Although it is relatively easy for some pet owners to determine if their pets are suffering from allergies, some are still unsure. If that describes you, you will want to seek medical attention for your dog, cat, or any other pet that may have allergies. A vet can do a number of tests, as well as examine your dogs skin to determine if they are suffering from allergies. Before you take your dog to the vet, you are encouraged to write down any questions that you may have or anything that may have caused you concerned. For example, did your dog start itching after getting into some weeds your backyard? Did you just change their pet food or give them a new pet toy or a new pet bed? If so, your vet should know.

Another one of the many reasons why it is a good idea to take your dog or cat to the vet is because you will likely end up doing so anyways. Many humans are able to stop itching, even when the urge to do so seems uncontrollable. Pets on the other hand, aren’t always able to do so. If you notice that your dog is itching a specific area of their body for more than two or three days, a visit to the vet may be in order. The same should be said, if you notice a skin rash or any broken skin. If left untreated, your pet may develop an infection, which is actually much worse that just having allergies.

As for how your dog or cat can be treated if they do have allergies, it is best that you follow the advice of your vet. This is because some of the medications prescribed may be for animals only, but some may also be human medications. The only thing is that not all medications are ideal for dogs; therefore, it is important to follow the advice of your vet. As for treatment, many prescribe antibiotic and antifungal cream for rashes or infections that may have already developed on the skin. Other preventative steps will likely be taken. For example, if your dog is allergic to a specific weed in your backyard, you may need to remove it or keep your dog away from the area. Although the treatment offered is likely to vary, most options will immediately provide relief to pets that are suffering.

PostHeaderIcon Buying Food at the Market and Other Daily Savings Tips for Travelers

Stuart S. Travel asked:

You’ve got to eat while traveling and most tourists will tell you that the best part of the whole trip is experiencing the food while in foreign places. If you are a fussy eater or have special dietary needs, you can still be accommodated while traveling, just plan ahead.

What better way to immerse yourself in the local culture than by visiting the local markets. Not only will you get to see and try the local cuisine, but you’ll probably save a lot of money. Eating in restaurants, especially those geared towards the tourist trade, can get very expensive. Try buying your food fresh from the markets and preparing it yourself. Or buy already prepared food from the market vendor.

In Bangkok you can visit the floating markets and buy anything from fresh fruit and vegetables, to ready prepared noodle soup. In Jerusalem the outdoor market or ‘shuk’ not only sells fruits and vegetables, but meat, poultry, fish, bread, nuts, cheese, spices and so on. As in most markets, you have to bargain at a shuk to get a good deal as prices vary markedly. African markets sell souvenirs as well as food.

Bargaining is welcomed at most markets, especially for keepsakes. Knowing how to bargain will save any traveler money. Here are a few points to follow when attempting to bargain for an item:

1. Always be polite and enjoy the experience

2. Ask for the price and then halve it. Start your bargaining at that number.

3. If the price is too high, walk away. You’ll be surprised how quickly the price comes down when you are disinterested!

4. Work out how much you are paying for in your own currency. Don’t haggle over a couple of cents. Remember this is how the market vendors make a living.

5. Don’t pay more than your think the item is worth.

6. You can also barter in some places. Brand name items (jeans, hats, shoes) are sought after items in some countries so barter with what you can afford to part with.

Other tips for saving money on a daily basis include:

* Avoid tourist-type restaurants. Find out where the locals eat and you’ll usually find authentic (better) cuisine at a lower price.

* Take note of what the farmers in the area eat. It’ll be cheap and healthy.

* Always pack snacks and fruit when going on a day trip. You’ll save money when you don’t have to buy from the tourist stops and street vendors along the way.

* Pack a picnic and go exploring. Use produce from the local market. You’ll save a bundle and eat well.

* Shop where the locals shop, not where the tourists go.

* Book into hotels that have breakfast as part of the package.

* Avoid airport food as it is usually expensive and not particularly healthy.

* Always ask if there are any discount offers available. If you don’t ask you won’t know and you won’t save.

* Walk when you can. It’s cheaper and a good healthy alternative, as well as giving you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of the country you are in.

* Avoid Laundromats. Wash your own clothes in the bathroom sink if you are able.

* Look for free entertainment.

PostHeaderIcon No Fee Credit Cards – Choose With Extreme Care

Arthor Pens asked:

The market today is flooded with different types of credit cards such as low interest, rewards, no fee, airline cards, and many more. Before choosing any card, you should be well aware of the terms and conditions of using this type of card. You should take care that you are not duped into one of the gimmicks of the credit card companies. For example, you should be careful while using a low interest credit card as the promised low interest of the credit may land you into an awkward situation and also make your total outstanding debt amount go out of your payment limits.

As many credit card companies capture the market with their numerous offers, there is one category that offers to give you a credit card with no annual fee or interest. This card is a no fee credit card. These cards are also used to get your balances transferred without any high rate of interest. However, these cards do charge a transfer fee to provide you with the benefit of interest free period that you will enjoy after this transfer of balance takes place. The phenomenon of transfer fees is a recent concept that has hit the credit card market. Still, you should carefully check the terms and conditions of the credit card before accepting the offer.

No fee credit cards should be chosen with extreme care. You should check beforehand for various things. You need to be careful and find out if you are being charged more in any way for a replacement of the fee. Some credit card companies charge a rate of interest after the lapse of a particular period to compensate for the fees. Check if you will be charged more if you happen to cross your limit. Make a similar check for defaulting in the payments. Many credit card companies charge a high rate of interest after the lapse of interest free balance transfer period. Also make sure that you are not caught in the trap of that 0% interest period against the zero annual fee. Before you agree to any terms and conditions of any of the lenders, shop around in the market to know about the terms and conditions offered by various companies.

These card are designed to help those people who want to consolidate their various outstanding debts to one card. By opting for this type of credit card, the card holder stands a chance to save a lot of money. This money is saved in the form of lower or no interest charges. Some of the issuers offer as low as zero percent to transfer various balances onto one card. In addition to all these benefits, these also offer various reward programs for their customers.

PostHeaderIcon Don’t Question – Let it Be.

Charlie Wolter asked:

So in our lives, why do “good” things happen and “bad” things happen.  It is not just luck; in fact one could argue there is no such thing as luck.  I do not want to take this article into god, religion or any of the sorts, even though further study would eventually suggest that.  What I am here to say is that things don’t “seem” to a happen for a reason, they “do” happen because you have asked for them to a happen.

A couple of years ago, which feels like about 20, I was working as a social worker and tired working really tough long hours for just an “okay” paycheck.  Many times I would say “I went to college for this?”   I wanted more, much more.  Little did I know that when I signed up as an Independent Business Owner for Quixtar, how what I had wanted had indeed been answered.

Now I went down the trail of tears before in network marketing, but this was the ‘serious one’ the one that was going to set me free from the social work paycheck.  As most of us do, we get involved with high hopes and dreams and then, nothing.  I fended off the questions of whether quixtar was amway or not, I fended off the pyramid scheme skeptics and all the negative connotations of network marketing.  But I still could not grow huge.

I noticed that all the “leaders” with huge down lines had something in common.  What they had in common was a base of people that were not acquired by the methods they were teaching me.  Whether they were grandfathered in from Amway, or had huge out of the country lines, it didn’t matter, I could not realistically grow big by handing out cd’s and doing “one on ones”.

Then as everything happens for a reason, frustration set in.  Instead of quitting as most people do, I went outside the box and looked for answers.  What I found was indeed what I had asked for about 5 years ago.  A vehicle that I could work, work hard and get just compensation in return, it is called Marketing.

I learned the art and science behind marketing.  I found experts to show me and many others how to take marketing techniques and use them to grow and develop massive down lines in the network marketing world.

Things do happen for a reason, in fact, one must actually be careful of what he/she asks for.  If you want it, you can visualize it and think about it almost to obsession it will indeed happen.  Careful though, this works on both positive and negative thoughts and desires.

You do have control over your life, you can create happiness or dread, you can create wealth or not, everything is within your control.  The key is to put yourself in a place where you are most likely to succeed, go outside the box and follow your dream and it will indeed come true.
